Midnight Secrets

Synopsis:
AT THE STROKE OF MIDNIGHT, THE HEAT BEGINS

On a hot southern night, with a storm on the horizon, a family is shattered. Three beautiful daughters—Savannah, Samantha, and Sabrina Wilde—go on with their lives, each significantly changed, as they bear the memory of the murder-suicide that killed their parents. For years, they have stayed away from Midnight, Alabama. Until Midnight calls them home.

Savannah is the first one back, when a grueling case in Nashville leads the young prosecutor to seek shelter in the quiet of the once grand Wilde mansion. But when she finds letters casting doubt on her family’s dark, shameful past, she realizes that peace in Midnight is a shallow façade and sinister secrets lurk beneath the surface. Zach Tanner, once the town’s bad boy, is now the new police chief and still has a wild hold over her. Zach can feel it, too, but he hurt Savannah once. As teenagers, they broke every rule together. Now it’s his job to keep her safe, even though he isn’t sure who her enemies are—or which ones might be his own.
Review:
Savannah and Zach have the perfect relationship, then something happens and Zach leaves without saying goodbye. Savannah is devastated and has to deal with multiple trials on her own. When Savannah goes back home to sell the house and take care some things she and Zach meet up and find that their passion for each other is still strong.

I love the story. Savannah and Zach had me laughing at some points and crying at others. The story is very well told and Ella did an amazing job with her description in the novel. I felt like I was standing right beside them throughout the entire novel.

This novel will be available for purchase on April 30,2013.

Review:

Jessica Scott's writing will BLOW YOU AWAY! I have read all of her work thus far and I have to say that I have NOT been disappointed at all. I love the story, the characters, and the way she writes. I especially like that she isn't afraid to let you see a little of what it is like to be a soldier, both enlisted and officer. Some just don't understand how hard it is to be a soldier. Anything for You is nothing short of amazing! I absolutely love it and I hope it will be available in print as well as ebook!

Excerpt

“You’ve been through much in your few years, lass. I’m sorry for that.” She spoke softly and her voice cracked. “I wish I could wipe away all the tears you must have shed alone at night and make you forget all the things you have had to endure by yourself, the good Lord knows I do.” She sniffled and then continued. “But, I can see your strength, your beauty, and your powers shining through all of your sorrows. They have made you who you are and believe me, lass, you are meant to do something great, don’t ever doubt that.” --Relativity 2-23-13

Author Bio
Peggy Martinez is a homeschooling mom of one boy and four girls.
She has been married to her soul mate, Omar, since January 2000. She enjoys reading, writing, soap making, all things aromatherapy, and Twizzlers- lots of Twizzlers. She dreams of one day owning a small homestead, raising some chickens along with her children, growing a large garden, and eventually taking a dream vacation to Greece. It isn't too far fetched to think you could happen upon her and her husband having a conversation about religion, political conspiracies, a zombie apocalypse, or gangster movies.

Vampire Valentine by: Amy Jones

Vampire Valentine

Synopsis:
~A paranormal comedy short story~

How is it that vampires, werewolves and witches always manage to become glamorized in Hollywood? They are forever portrayed as the overwhelmingly gorgeous, record-breaking athletic types with off-the-chart SAT scores! This is such a load of crap. Let’s be honest with ourselves for a minute. It’s never easy being different, even under normal circumstances. Now factor in the reality that your DNA is something far from human and imagine yourself wandering the halls of an ordinary mortal high school. You still think this would be cool, right? Well, you would be dead wrong (no pun intended). Take it from someone who can claim this miserable fate, it totally sucks!

The name’s Rhapsody Ripper and I am a freshman at Mundane High. Everyone in my school hates me and my two best friends, Hardy Hunter and Samantha Spell. Why? The answer is very simple. We’re freaks of nature, complete outcasts. We’re para-ab-normal misfits and we don’t fit in. Our peers go out of their way to avoid us on a regular basis, but today something happened that has never ever happened before.

One of them was nice to me. Actually, he was much more than nice. With only five days remaining until Valentine’s Day, Reese Good, the deliciously warm-blooded star quarterback, invited me to the Sweetheart Dance. Maybe this year I won’t have to spend the holiday invented by a greeting card company alone.

Review:
I was absolutely thrilled by this short story. It is LAUGH OUT LOUD funny and I love the way Amy has written it. The story is very well written and put together wonderfully.
